Generally, 2 to 4 appointments are required, with the process being similar for both full and partial dentures. The exception is an ‘Immediate Denture’, fitted right after tooth extraction and adjusted or replaced within 3 to 6 months.

First Appointment – Taking Initial Impressions:

During your first visit to Image Dental Clinic, our dental professionals will start the denture-making process by taking detailed impressions of both your upper and lower teeth. These initial moulds are crucial for creating a baseline model of your mouth.
The impressions are carefully prepared and then sent to our specialized dental laboratory. This is where the initial stage of your custom denture creation begins.

Second Appointment – Precision Impressions and Bite Registration:

At your second appointment, we take the precision to the next level. Our technicians craft a ‘special tray’ tailored specifically to the contours of your mouth. This tray is used to take a more accurate and detailed impression of your teeth and gums.
Additionally, during this visit, we use a wax bite block to accurately record the way your teeth come together (your bite). This step is vital to ensure that your dentures will allow for a comfortable and functional bite once fitted.

Third Appointment – Trial Denture Fitting:

In this crucial appointment, the trial dentures, which are essentially a preliminary version of your final dentures, are ready for fitting. These are set in wax, allowing us to make precise adjustments.
For Cobalt Chrome dentures, the metal framework is completed, and the teeth are attached to this framework with wax.

The trial fitting is to confirm that the dentures fit well, are comfortable in your mouth, and that your bite alignment is correct, ensuring the highest standard of care expected at Dentures Fitzrovia.

Any adjustments needed are identified and noted during this trial fitting. The dentures are then sent back to the laboratory for the final adjustments and completion based on the feedback from this appointment.

Fourth Appointment – Final Denture Fitting:

This is the final stage of your journey to new dentures. During this visit, your dentures, now fully completed and adjusted based on the previous trial fitting, are ready to be fitted.
Our dentist will carefully fit the final dentures, ensuring that they sit comfortably in your mouth and that your bite is correctly aligned.
